SBG, a Catapult Company, Powers RaceWatch for INDYCAR Team – Dale Coyne Racing

London, UK — SBG, a Catapult company, is pleased to announce that another NTT INDYCAR SERIES team has joined the SBG Family. Dale Coyne Racing (DCR) recently signed a multi-year deal to use SBG motorsport race strategy platform RaceWatch beginning with the 2023 season.

Dale Coyne Racing is coming off of a strong rookie campaign in the #18 by David Malukas, featuring three top 10 finishes and starting in the top 10 seven times. Running in the #51, two time INDY 500 Champion Takuma Sato, ran strong on the ovals and continues to bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. The 2022 season was DCR’s 39th consecutive year of competition in American open-wheel racing and there is much to be excited about heading into the 2023 season.

“We’re delighted to add RaceWatch to our day to day workflow. The combination of powerful data analysis, intelligent prediction and clear visualizations, all fully synchronized with video and audio, made RaceWatch an easy choice to be part of our racing operations,” said Alex Athanasiadis, Performance Engineer, Dale Coyne Racing. “RaceWatch will bring together so much statistical data over a race week and weekend, the time savings will provide us with a critical competitive advantage over our rivals.

“RaceWatch enables more efficient and precise strategy and tactical decision making, in the lead up to and throughout qualifying and the race. Providing us with the right tools for analyzing our performance against competitors live, so we can feed key information to our drivers while they are out on track,” he continued.

“We are proud to welcome Dale Coyne Racing as our next partner in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. RaceWatch has enabled race visualizations to support real-time decision making throughout the F1 grid since 2008 and we’re driven to bring that same technology to INDYCAR. We look forward to our continued growth with DCR” said Joe Schrimpl, Motorsport Sales Director, SBG, a Catapult company.

RaceWatch provides a uniquely clear and consolidated Head Up Display for the entire team whatever their area of analysis. It delivers rich visuals and an easy-to-use interface to instantly access pertinent detail while never losing sight of the big picture. Live modeling and tracking of driver performance, tire degradation, and pit stop analysis tools allow the engineers to predict performance and make instant strategic decisions while their drivers are out on track. The dashboards are tailored to assist with making real-time decisions, reacting to competitor actions or adjusting the strategic and tactical plan, as well as providing rigorous post-event analysis tools for consolidating data over a race weekend and the season as a whole.

DCR is the next INDYCAR team in the series to use SBG’s technology, joining the elite company of Formula One teams who compete with RaceWatch. SBG is also the Official Supplier of Race Control Systems for the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).

Over the last 10 years the RaceWatch solution has evolved rapidly from race to race to keep ahead of technological and performance advancements and remain at the cutting edge of the fastest and most technologically advanced sport in the world. Developed for precision decision making, the SaaS technology forms the core of the SBG and Catapult range of fully scalable and customizable solutions for diverse sports markets.
